Translation Ethics

The topic of this thesis is translation ethics. The theoretical part provides definitions of key concepts in the field of normative ethics, as well as an overview of the existing research into ethics in translation studies. Three possible ways of approaching this topic are presented and the main themes of translation ethics identified. The thesis then describes the history of codes of ethics with special attention to problems regarding these written ethical norms. With focus on their content, the thesis provides a detailed description of translators' individual rights and obligations, as defined in various codes of ethics, which deem a translator's behaviour ethical or unethical. The thesis also explores how translators can be affected by the unethical decisions of other people. The end of the theoretical part focuses on translation ethics in connection with CAT tools and machine translation. The empirical part analyses data collected through questionnaire research, the aim of which was to study translators' behaviour in ethically challenging situations. First, research methods and individual parts of the questionnaire are described. Google+ implementation in order to improve communication effectivity within workgroup

Diploma thesis is focused on electronic social networks and implementation of these networks inside a work association from information technology industry. The thesis is divided into two main parts which systematically follow each other. In theoretical part the chosen online social networks are described with highlights of possible usage in professional association. Also the usage of these networks in Czech Republic is compared and analyzed. Next in line are shown current standards in business communication and these are then softly connected to an explanation, why some kind of electronic social networks should be used in a company, regarding the law. The applying part describes the researched professional association and analyses problematic situation which is solved in this writing. Using the Multiple-criteria decision-making method an electronic social network which suits best is picked for usage in researched association and then implemented in real life. Data collected after implementation from user feedback is used to cast a résumé, whether the process went well or not, and the lasting result on communication effectivity from both management and employee views. Based on the result mentioned above, a bonus set of advices and possible innovations which the association should obey when using implemented electronic social network is included.
Forwarder's role in international trade

The bachelor thesis presents an integral overview of the forwarding branch. First of all there are described the services provided by the forwarder and reasons for using them. An overview of the legislative framework of the forwarding branch follows. Afterwards the most important professional associations (FIATA and SSL) are presented and the possible ways of segmentation and characterization of the forwarding companies are outlined. In the second part of the thesis is the theoretic knowledge integrated into the practice of the company DHL Global Forwarding. The present development of the forwarder market in naval shipping is analysed and it is described the organization of import and also export cases.
Professional liability insurance

This thesis deals with professional liability insurance. It discusses professional liability insurance, including specifics relating to this insurance. The thesis analyzes the framework agreement concluded by selected professional associations with insurance companies. It examines the situation on the Czech market in terms of this insurance product.
